  • WEKA: What Everybody Keeps Asking about - Disability
    Weka is New Zealand's disability information web site, for people with disabilities, their families, whanau and caregivers, health professionals and disability information providers.

    It provides information on living with a disability, support services, resources for Maori, information about disabilities and diseases, news and library resources.
     

  • Office For Disability Issues New Zealand

    The Office of Disability Issues works across portfolios and with government agencies to support progress on disability issues.  Their work is underpinned by the New Zealand Disability Strategy and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

    However, they are not responsible for implementing the New Zealand Disability Strategy. Instead, their role is to promote, guide, lead, inform and advise wherever appropriate. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities provides the detail that will help to inform implementation the New Zealand Disability Strategy.

    They also have a key role in developing partnerships between disabled people, central and local government, communities and support agencies.

    The Office for Disability Issues does not deliver disability support services, or hold funding.
     

  • Ministry of Social Development
    The Ministry of Social Development provides government with advice on strategic social policy, sectoral policy and social research and evaluation in the areas of income support, child, youth and family as well as community.

    It is also responsible for providing policy advice and support for older people and people with disabilities through the Offices for Senior Citizens and Disability Issues.

  • Minister For Disability Issues - Tariana Turia
    The role of the Minister is to advocate disability issues and to establish and report on the New Zealand Disability Strategy.

  • The Health & Disability Commissioner
    Key mission is to promote the rights and responsibilities of consumers and providers and to resolve complaints by fair processes and credible decisions to achieve just outcomes.
     

  • Webhealth
    Find a Health and Social Service such as a counsellor, family service or a GP in the Counties Manukau region.
     

  • Healthpoint 
    Healthpoint is a tool that allows doctors, patients and caregivers to access local information about what to expect prior to, during and following a referral to secondary/ tertiary medical healthcare services.
