Arthritis Educators work with clients to help them self-manage their
arthritis. This may include a detailed assessment of their
condition, information on self-management techniques, exercise,
hydrotherapy, the use of physical aids and referral to appropriate
health specialists or groups.
Local support groups provide regular newsletters, exercise and
hydrotherapy classes, specialist groups and social meetings.

Residential Care Line
This site aims to offer people information. The focus is mainly on
people who are aged 65 years and over, who are considering the
possibility of a move into care, or who are already in living in a
rest home or hospital.
There is
information on how to get help to stay at home, short term relief
care for caregivers, as well as the systems around long term
residential care. This includes entitlements for people receiving
Residential Care Subsidy and Top Up Subsidy.
There is also further detail on retirement villages, rental
accommodation, home care and activities for older people in the
Greater Auckland and Northland regions.

volunteer drivers take people to hospital, clinic and doctors
appointments. Drivers wait for the client then take the person back
to their home. Clients are asked to contribute 34 cents per
kilometre in petrol money.
