Health Services We Fund

Primary Health Care

CMDHB funds a number of primary health care services ensuring that you receive effective health care that meets your needs. Most of these services are provided through Primary Health Organisations (PHOs), general practices; and a wide range of community based providers and other organisations that provide first point of contact, primary health care related services, e.g. pharmacies, well child services; laboratories, oral health services, etc.

In this section you will find information on how these services are planned and funded. If you are looking for GP contact details go to www.webhealth.co.nz and for how to access hospital or specialist services, go to www.healthpoint.co.nz.

We are working with PHOs and other health providers in the community to improve and strengthen the overall services offered to you. The aim is to grow the workforce and build up teamwork with different parties involved in providing primary health care services.

Models and Structures to Support - Better, Sooner, More Convenient Primary Care - CMDHB District

CMDHB has been considering the service models and structures that would best support the national objectives to deliver better, sooner, more convenient care in the local Counties Manukau context.

Please see the ‘Discussion Document’ as a basis for dialogue with secondary clinicians and primary health care stakeholders.  The intent of this document is to stimulate discussion for Counties Manukau health providers to be part of a first wave initiative to implement Better, Sooner, More Convenient primary care.
